Newest advisory on my phone just stated for people to be prepared for no power for days and even up to 1 week in some areas. Damn that would suck arse.

From GA Power's emergency director:
quote:

“We have a high level of concern. When you’re talking a half-inch of ice or larger, it’s pretty darn bad. You go back to the [2000] Super Bowl – we had a half-inch of ice and had 350,000 outages. So this is big. We already have 2,500 to 3,000 outside resources rolling into Georgia.” The ice could be an inch thick in the Augusta area, Strickland said – something he’s never seen in 35 years with the utility. More: “I would be prepared for days. This has the opportunity to be a huge event, when you’re talking about the amount of ice were looking at….We’re looking at hundreds of thousands of outages. This could be of a long duration.”

Generator gased up, plenty of food, and a 30 rack of beer. I'm ready

it wasn't even a remote possibility that anything would hit today, so you could say that about any day.

Nothing at all here in Lilburn in Gwinnett Co. except dampness on the ground.

Feeling left out.

I flew up to Raleigh for a 3 day biz trip this morning, but the weather in Atlanta looked like it was going to turn into a regular shite show, so I got back on a plane and got home this afternoon. I have to go to Hong Kong on saturday and did not want to get stuck in NC for some stupid weather reason.

Checking in from Senoia (TWD Woodbury)
Still above freezing with light rain. The wife thought now would be a good time to go to the Newnan Walmart to stock up
I bought a new ventless propane heater even though the house has fireplaces in it. It didn't come with the line or regulator so I'll try to do it myself and not kill the family in the process.
Free paid day of leave for wed and thurs
Expecting 1/2 to 1 inch of ice. :sadnana:

In Jackson, MS. It seems quiet outside, but I received a phone call from Entergy saying we might lose power.
