I
I'm with you, however they will never listen. In general they think we do nothing and are gazillionaires. I've been in practice for 12 years and it bothered me the way they acted and treated my office staff the first few years then I just focused on why I got into the profession and focused on helping people get well and stay well. That's the best advise.

Don't give us appointments at 11:00am and then have us sit in the examination room for 2.5 hours before we actually see the doctor.

what kind of doc are you? I'm in school right now so a bit curious.

This doesn't sound like you're a healthcare elitist douche at all.
Please start talking to your clients like this and see how far that gets you in your professional career.

I love how medical providers blame patients for the lack of timely service.
I bet it never has anything to do with the dr getting a morning blowie from that hot blonde who happens to be a drug rep for Clarithromycin

As a fellow healthcare worker, I feel your pain. To watch our ED get abused by people that would rather buy 26" rims than go to the fricking Dr then want to use our ED as a primary care for ear aches and nasal infections on the taxpayer dime makes me want to beat the shite out of someone.
Medicaid only pays us $.25 on the dollar for treating these tit suckers.
It doesn't help when their baby daddy comes to see them in the hospital, cuts through a flower bed clearly off of the walking path and trips over a sprinkler head then wants to sue the hospital for a gazillion dollars that we have to pay a lawyer $500/hr to defend.
Like I said, makes me want to beat the shite out of someone.

I enjoy showing up first at the doctor and still having to wait 30 minutes after I've filled out paperwork
Posted on 1/18/17 at 5:19 pm to jeff5891
Y'all must have seriously behind providers.
I have seen 83 clinic patients so far this week. The longest any patient has had to wait after their appointment time to get in an exam room was 22 min and that was because they showed up 5 min after their appointment time and took 17 min to verify their mcaid that they failed to bring their card in for.
The longest any patient has waited to be seen by me past their appointment time this week was 33 min and that was because the patient before them was actively suicidal and had to be directly admitted to the hospital in the middle of clinic.

I could lay a lot worse bullshite on you that I deal with in my job. But alas, nobody gives a shite. Just count your money Doc and try to see me, in the rare event I visit you, in less than an hour. Thanks
Posted on 1/18/17 at 5:20 pm to jeff5891
You must not understand. The reason you have to wait an extra two hours is because everyone potties after being taken to the back. Totally not their fault.

My wife says this one happens all the time. The patient isn't fooling anyone.

The statement "I've done everything and I just cannot lose weight" is a false statement. If you burn more calories than you consume you will in fact lose weight.
I think this also goes for all those quick-fix seeking lard asses that want to waste money on each and every multi-level marketing product there is like an It Works wrap.

Although some very rare emergencies necessitate presenting for healthcare dirty or disheveled, there is no reason at all to forego basic hygiene like bathing within 2 days prior to the appointment, wearing deodorant, knocking the mud off your shoes, wearing clean clothes or at least ones that do not smell of animal or human excrement, or brushing your teeth sometime in the preceding week.
This is my wife's largest complaint, especially when the patient is a little child. It breaks her heart to see the filthy condition some of these children are brought in with, including infants.

It's almost as if you specialize in a customer base who aren't feeling their best.
Posted on 1/18/17 at 5:28 pm to Bleeding purple
I'd just like doctors to keep appointment times. That's really all I ask
Posted on 1/18/17 at 5:30 pm to Bleeding purple
I understand your complaints but you probably get paid a nice salary. You voluntarily chose a profession that serves the public. I'm sure you've had plenty of good experiences too.

Hey, guess what?
no one gives a shite.
