I don't know if they "happily go" anymore than someone "happily" goes to get his or her car worked on.

'acting like you are above the patients'

Do you not realize that even those in the medical field.....go through the same things when we are the patients ourselves. The difference is....I know that the stuff that is annoying(waiting, etc)...isn't necessarily the fault of the doctor I'm waiting to see. I know how to play the game...so always show up early if I'm a new patient to have enough time to fill out needed paperwork, make sure to give appropriate notice if I need to cancel, etc.

Stuff that would actually drastically improve wait times if everyone else did this as well.

You think we get special treatment? Nope...those that work in the medical field don't magically have this super awesome insurance.

As long as you don't complain if your plumber shows up one or more hours late.

Doctors tend to be good physicians

Doctors tend to be poor businessmen

I waited almost 90 minutes once to see my gyno.

She had an emergency csection to perform so was running late. I was given the option of rescheduling or seeing the NP...but opted to wait for my gyno.

Didn't bitch or whine once. Just took that as a time to sit back and read a really good book on my kindle app on my phone.

If plumbers were 95% paid out by claims to homeowner's warranty companies (which most of the time only paid like half of what the work was worth...and took months to see this reimbursement)...then you better believe they would have to cram in way more work in a day so they could survive and work faster....and make their customers wait longer.

what would be very helpful is if physicians would just apologize once to a patient if they ere running even 15 minutes late. Some may do it. But I have never seen it happen for my kids seeing their ped. I doubt that any more than a handful even know the times of each patient's appointment or what time the patients were called back. A simple apology goes a long way. "I am sorry, for running a bit late; I had blah blah blah just happen this morning and I got backed up". Instead, many just walk in late and go on like it is business as usual. WHich it is- the usual.

well don't complain about the plumber being an hour late because on his first call this morning, a pipe unexpectedly busted.

Nope. I'll go when I need to. And I will also complain when asked, given the opportunity, or when warranted.

Are you seriously complaining about a peds office being backed up?

Seriously?

A peds office? Where you likely have goodness knows how many patient appointments that are "fit in somewhere" because some parent is hysterical about their kid's cold?

Have you ever called their office and were able to be one of those "ok we will fit you in" appointments?

If so...you have no right to bitch about wait times...when you were part of the cause of them.

It's a peds office...where kids are not always very cooperative, or may take longer to not be scared for the doctor to properly examine them.

when I am an 8:00 appt and we see the doc get out of his car at 8:20, then see us at 8:50 and not apologize. Yes!! I know one doc who rolls in for his 8 am appt at about 8:30, routinely, and then plays on his phone.

I wouldn't complain though. Because I'm a rational person that can understand that not everything always goes my way. And that the world doesn't revolve around my schedule. shite happens sometimes and sometimes plumbers are an hour late.
