I'd probably just refer to her as my better half. She is always there for me no matter what and many times takes better care of me than my husband does.
We always joke that if we ever divorce our husbands (who are brothers) or they die, that we will move in together and live life as we please.
We live in a small town so that ought to cause some gossip.Sis in law made me laugh even more when she said she would put up a rainbow flag just to really give them something to talk about, lol!!

Did the Supreme Court write the amendment for same sex marriage to only be a right for homosexuals or did they include what you posted?
I'm curious about that too. But why shouldn't I be able to marry my best friend to provide her with the benefits of my life such as insurance, my retirement, the title of my next of kin so that I have someone who cares for me if I become incapacitated or old.
In my situation I do NOT want my next of kin/ blood kin (mother, eldest sister) to take charge of me if I become incapacitated and make decisions for me. they would rob me blind and treat me like crap and dump me in the cheapest , crappiest nursing home or put me on the streets.
I also wonder if the courts consider that a marriage has to be consummated to be legal. I know you can get an annulment if the marriage is not consummated. But then again, some people with disabilities cannot consummate their marriage. Some people who marry inmates serving life i prison never consummate their marriages either.
I see a lot of interesting issues coming from this decisions.

My guess is that you'll never be able to enter into a legal contract with animals since they can't consent
Tell that to the girl with a dog and a jar of peanut butter
