Gatlinburg is on fire.

Rain needs to get there now. Fire is literally on top of some of the hotels in Gatlinburg. Also almost to Ripley's Museum.

Rain is about 20-30 minutes away

Reading that people are trapped in one of the hotels there. Hotel is on fire in video posted on internet. Hope they get rain tonight.

If structure is already burning, rain won't help much

Just spoke to folks in Knoxville. It will be storming in Gatlinburg very soon

Damn this sucks man. I'm gonna be there in about a month. Hoping for the best for the people in that area.

Picc, you sipping on some moonshine up that way?
I wish! My condition looks down upon drinking, but I only have 4 more months until I can partake in the sauces. :)
Weather has been beautiful-Tennessee is such a beautiful state.

That's the scariest video I've ever watched. Is the hotel literally surrounded?
If so, collect every fire extinguisher in the hotel and get ready to make a path

Ditto. Literally makes me sick to my stomach. Was up in Gatlinburg about a month ago. Hate to see this happening.

That's the Park Vista hotel. Stayed there last year. Great place with a great view of the city. It also happens to sit in the middle of a big hill with one road in and out. That could be serious trouble very soon if the rain doesn't arrive.

Dang, we're headed up there Thursday to see the Christmas parade Friday night. Hope the rain helps.

Here is one of the several arsonist caught. Article says he is from Tuscaloosa.
Bama Arsonist
To be clear though, he and the other arsonist mentioned in the story are not the ones who set this particular fire.

I'm getting some rain outside of Bryson City. I know they've got to be getting it there by now.
Posted on 11/28/16 at 9:37 pm to TigerOnTheMountain
Can you speak to the conditions in and around Bryson city?

I agree, I don't understand what compels someone to intentionally start a fire. Some people just don't deserve to be alive.
