Headed there with the GF in March. Need some ideas on things to do? I think snows melted at that point and not sure water sports (rafting) are a good idea that point.

We already plan on doing some day hikes, but we'll be there for 5-6 days. Can only hike in the damn woods so much.

I heard Cades Cove is worth seeing. Will also explore the town of Gatlinburg as well.

What else? Anything that I can't miss?

We went last year, and will go again this year. Last year we hiked to a different water fall everyday. I would say the Ramsey's Cascades was the best.

Cant miss
gatlinburg
-pancake pantry
-ole smokey moonshine
-hillbilly golf
-aquarium
-ober gatlinburg if you wana ice skate
-roaring fork motor trail

pigeon forge
-dixie stampede
-dollywood
-old mill resturant
-apple barn "eat a fried apple pie at the cider mill" they also have a nice resturant
-the christmas place "must see anytime of year"

yes cades cove is a must, also plenty trails
to hike. If you want short ones, long ones, ones with waterfalls. Stop at sugarlands visitors center soon as you leave gburg to head to cades cove, they wil have maps and park rangers to show you anything you need.

also wears valley rd that comes into pigeon forge has a place called goats on the roof thats pretty funny, and alpine slides.

pigeon forge has huge outlet malls and plenty of dinner shows like lumberjack fud and hatfields and mccoys that are both good, among others.

smokey mountain knife works is awesome if your into that

Never seen so many pancake houses in one place before.

There is a hike trail near Cades Cove that goes off to see a nice water fall. About a 5-6 mile hike. Not long but nice.

Just looked it up.

Although Clingmans Dome Observation Tower is open year-round, the road leading to it is closed from December 1 through March 31, and whenever weather conditions require.

Cades Cove is a must visit for anyone visiting the area. Where are y'all staying? I highly recommend the Lodge at Buckberry Creek if you aren't wanting to go the cabin route. The aquarium is top notch. Get out of town a little and zipline at Firefox Mountain. Really nice, family run property with a great trail to a waterfall and tons of ziplines. English Mountain Trout Farm and Grill is hands down the coolest dining experience in the area. You catch your own trout from their pond and they cook it right there for you. I visit the area often even though I live only a few hours away in the mountains already. You will have a good time no matter where you go. Pics of GF or STFH.

We are staying at a cabin near gatlinburg through vrbo. It's tight

The trout thing sounds cool as hell. We were already thinking about doing some guided fly fishing

Hot tub? Pool table? Talk to the owner of the trout farm and tell him you're from LA. He'll grill your trout up with Tony Chachere's if you want. Really awesome guy and family. He has two badass huskies just chilling with you while you eat. Your GF will love it. I'll be there this weekend with my Gf and will add to this thread upon my return.

I never understand the number of recommendation threads for Gatlinburg. It's beautiful there and that's the end of the story.

Go to all the moonshine and wine tasting. I think there are 4 shine places and 2 or 3 wine places.

Get drunk enjoy the scenery, it's supposed to be a relaxing vacation.

Get bombed, take some 480 peptide penis juice and make your wife walk crooked. It's not rocket science.

I agree. We went last summer and except for Ober Gatlinburg, there is not much in Gatlinburg except cheap souvenir shops. Pigeon Forge and outlying areas are better places to spend your time. The Alpine Sledding ride in Pigeon Forge is a must.
