Gasoline pumps with disabled hands-free hoses
Posted by TDFreak on 7/14/15 at 6:34 pm70
Gassing up my car at Exxon and frustrated that I can't set the trigger in hands-free and let it pump without squeezing for the entire time.
Yeah, I know the gas stations disable this for safety reasons, but the trigger trips off once the tank is full. What gives? Why not use this great feature?
I used to stick my gas cap in the handle to pump hands-free, but these new cars don't have gas caps. ::frown::
Any OT'ers have a work-around that they like?

Tennis ball, pair of gloves, long screw, whatever it takes to make it hands free so I can go inside to get a 24oz Budlite

Just hold the lever. It'll be good for your girly-man puny arms, you puny-arms girly-man.

Just about all the Cheverons don't have hand free.
Many other stations don't either.

I love that idea, esp if it were to fly out after the pressure switch engaged and a little gas splashed out..

Baton Rouge. I don't know if it's just me, but I consider myself lucky to find a station that has hands free.

I used to use a coin but this one time as I went inside the store for about 10 mins the clerk started panicking and pointing outside.
Well, there was about 3 inches of fuel all around the pumps. Apparently the dime I used was wedged in there pretty good.
Fire department came soon after. I left as they were driving up.
I think I bought about 80 gallons of gas that day for a 17 gallon tank.
I dont know what to use but dont use a coin.
