Yet food prices are higher than ever. Why haven't they come down with the gas?

I give it 10 years to where we will see $100 steaks at top-tier restaurants. Beef prices are unreal.

Less farms and food supply, more mouths to feed. The end is near.

This. I love my beef and I haven't had steak in a while just because of how expensive it has gotten. It should cost less to get the food to market now since gas prices have come down.

It's not gonna kill you to eat less red meat.

It'll actually do the opposite. And you'll feel better.

Milk will be worth more per ounce than gold. It's crazy.

Was it the late 80's or early 90's where the beef market tanked or was going to tank due to the threat of beef from Mexico overloading the US market? I vaguely remember my grandfather shitting bricks nervous about it.

One time I went to this party with a bunch of Liberal Arts majors and they had a can of Pringles on the couch and this guy sat down real fast on top of the can and it made a big noise like "yet food prices are higher than ever".

Once we smelled it we all realized he farted.

I don't know why I just thought of this.

NOW I remember.

Because the supply and demand curves are out of whack with the current oil prices. Price of food and other necessities is still set at the same prices due to the demand staying the same. Price of oil dropped due to supply surplus. If they suddenly baked too much bread, expect the price to go down. But just because it's cheaper to operate the tractor doesn't mean the average Joe isn't willing to shell out the same price for a loaf. So until demand truly shifts, don't expect a major swing in pricing.

I get much better gas mileage when I use 100% gasoline. If you're not familiar with what stations in your area carry it then visit this link. LINK

If they would ever eliminate the ethanol mandate the price free fall would be crazy. Ranches will be shutting down like oil field services are doing now.

Most I have paid was 2.17 in tourist trap Florida. Beef prices are caused by huge drought in Texas, and some kind of virus or something. Food prices by fricking ethanol subsidies that caused corn prices to spike but corn is cheap now too
