Wow Instead of letting the investigation show whether alton was pulling a gun or not, we have athletes, albeit not famous ones, but ones who locals in baton rouge look up to......and they're spewing this garbage about their own polls

quote:

“I reached out to several police officers to have a conversation on what happened. Ten out of 10 said what happened was wrong. Nine out of 10 said it should not have come to that.

quote:

“I was not surprised it happened. Baton Rouge is not the most progressive city in the country. Those type of police officers should not be on the force"

LINK

are the downvotes the temple fan club? collis temple fan club?

nobody can see garrett said that he ran his own straw poll and concluded the cops were wrong and that baton rouge pd are basically backwards arse cops and not always good people?

and i read that as "10 out of 10 said If Alton would have complied it would not have come to that. 9 out of 10 said it should not have come to that Alton should have complied."

ETA: I should clarify, i read that as that's what the cops were trying to say rather then how Temple is trying to portray it.

It's not his job to help alleviate racial tension.

Is that your thing? Pretending like you're too good to have ever heard of any of these athletes or celebrities? Only one I recognized was Kobe...

Meh. The quoted comments aren't too crazy. I disagree with them, but they are not incendiary

Who's this 1 that thinks it was wrong but it should have come to that?

This guy is an idiot. If you're gonna make things up they should at least make sense.

This is DISGUSTING people. And for those of you who say "he had a gun." When did it become illegal to have a gun?

He does but then he painted a pretty inaccurate picture of BR before all of this. Maybe I misread what he was saying but it appears he is saying the Alton shooting was wrong.

Sure what happened was wrong. No one should have been killed.

Sterling should not have been packing. As an ex felon he was breaking the law.

Sterling should not have flashed his gun at a civilian to bully them.

Sterling should have responded in a positive way when the cops arrived, and took his medicine (for packing) and not been belligerent.

After that only god knows what that cop was thinking, but all of Sterling's actions until that point created the scenario allowing him to be shot.

Temple is right, it should never have come to that. If only Alton Sterling would have respected the badge.

There are thousands of people in the public right now spewing more idiotic, uneducated, unfactual stuff. You are putting more focus on this one guys because he's from baton rouge, and most importantly because he played a sport at LSU. His opinion is not more important, factual, uneducated than any other person out there. I wish people would get off their high horses, and stop putting such a premium on what professional and collegiate athletes say and do.
