Friend of mine had hers removed and recovered in a few days. The picture of that thing full of stones is one of the nastier things I've ever seen

Wife (no pics) got her's removed. It was no big deal.

In and out of the hospital in a few hours. She was in a good bit of pain for about a week or so though.

This mainly affects fatties so not many people here will be able to help.

Well I anit fat, I hear you lose a lot of weight after? I don't have much weight to lose, haha. Just trying to get any idea of what to expect. Does my diet have to change a lot? I eat a lot of spicy foods.

Wife is not fatty, and works out regularly.

Had mine out jan 2012. Not a big deal but you have to watch what you eat. You'll figure it out

My little cousin did. She had too many gallstones to count. She was pretty active, but she was out of commission for about a month.

Dont wait too long. Especially If you are having attacks. I waited until I had several stones and the gall bladder adhered partly to my liver and had to be cut away.

For any on the workout crew that have had it out, how soon did you go back to lifting? I've had some trouble with mine, but have been reluctant to get it out because of the layoff. The recommendations on how soon you can go back are all over the map, from a couple of weeks to several months.

I had mine out in November on 2013. Supposed to be a day surgery, but mine was botched.

Long story, but essentially I spent six days in the hospital, starting on a Sunday, because I woke up in intense pain. Passed out in the emergency due to it and spent most of the time on a dilaudid drip.

Apparently mine just stopped working and it was like a garbage disposal overflowing in my stomach.

Had surgery on a Thursday, but they wouldn't let me go home. Turns out I was having blood pressure shocks and passing out because the doctor nicked me above my abdomen and below my right chest and left me bleeding internally. For the next four days I couldn't even sit up without getting nauseous, I felt like I my heart was going to beat out of my left ear, I'd get dizzy and couldn't see. I swear to God that the only thing that helped me even move was when a buddy came by and let me smoke weed.

My ball sack swelled up to the size of an orange, but the nurse didn't seem to care. My surgeon told me at my follow-up, "that's the worst bruising I've ever seen." It was real bad.

I was his last patient before he moved to Oklahoma. The very last one in his office.

I bring this up for two reasons, there is no "routine" anything when they have to cut you open and don't let Craig Bozeman do your surgery.

Oh, and I have to poop 3-4 times a day now. Invest in the wet wipes.

I had mine out and is suggest trying some sort of cleanse that I was too lazy to do. My uncle was told he needed to have his gall bladder out and he did some sort of cleanse where he drank some lemon juice/maple syrup concoction and hasn't had problems since. Eating salad or leafy greens makes my stomach uneasy now and come out how they went in and I have to go the bathroom like 5 minutes after eating almost every time. No more gall bladder attacks but I wish I had the fortitude to try other options.

I agree man. Definitely worth a try. It wouldn't have worked with me though. Mine worked at, if I recall, at less than .5% capacity. I literally couldn't eat anything without shriveling up into the fetal position due to the pain. I wouldn't have even made it through the cleanse.

The cleanse is worth looking into. Surgery should be a last resort.
