so here's the deal: I hit a deer last week while driving home, front end of my 2014 F150 is pretty messed up. Insurance will cover it, but I'm going to add a front bumper for more protection. I drive a lot for work and think this will be a good idea. From what I've read, Ranch Hand makes good bumpers. I'm looking at the Summit front bumper right now, so when the collision center fixes the front of my truck, they can just add this on.

One problem is, the Ranch Hand bumpers only come in black and I'd like a chrome bumper, but safety and quality are more important to me than cosmetics.

Do any of you OT ballers or oil field baws have any advice or recommendations?

TIA

No recommendations other than a chrome ranch hand type bumper would look ridiculous.

Have the body shop paint it to match the color of your truck or trim on your truck.

My dad has one of these on his f250. Westin HDX Grille guard. It's a lot more stout than your normal brush guard. It comes in chrome or black.

I think it's called a brush guard unless you are adding a second bumper. I've never seen that.

Go to a fab shop and have it custom made the way you want it. Then powder coat it.

my concern with the grill guard is that it leaves the sides of the factory bumper vulnerable. There's no protection there. Do I need that to be covered?

Just wrap the whole truck in bubble wrap.

It's a truck. If you use it right, bumpers are gonna get dinged. Putting a 200lb front-end replacement on a half ton is ridiculous.

Get a Reuel stainless bumper if you really want a badass piece of good looking steel up there

I had a Reunel on my last truck. Tested it on several deer, a few oak trees, and a dodge Dakota. Damn things are bulletproof.

I had to swap out my front torsion bars for 1 ton diesel bars just to hold it up.

Get a bumper replacement, save the cost of the shop repairing the factory one.

I had a warn trans4mer that looked something like that and the headlight surround wouldn't stand up to a deer.

ETA: I doubt anything you buy at a store will though.
