The president of a Virginia college is “outraged” and has pledged action after several vulgar signs directed at incoming female students -- and their mothers -- were draped from the ledges of nearby off-campus houses.

Outraged...there's a word.
So outraged that horny teenage frat stars are vulgar and crude?
Might as well be outraged that water is wet or grass is green.
Used to be we could dismiss it with pursed lip and a shake of the head. "Boys will be boys."
Now we have to "take action" for these "egregious offenses".
Because driving innocuous stuff underground ALWAYS WORKS.

Two things...what have they said (literally) on the signs that were vulgar? Suggestive...yes, but vulgar? They say "hope your baby girl is ready for a good time"..."Freshman Daughter drop off" and "Drop Mom off too". They could argue that they are going to have a party and want good looking women to attend and that it is the mind of the ODU President that is actually vulgar (by turning suggestive banners into vulgar ones).
In reality...they have a constitutional right to free speech. Off campus, they ODU President should remember where is jurisdiction ends.

Yes, from the government. So, while the college probably can't do anything about it, they can pressure the frats head office who can then tell them to relax or whatever.
I doubt anything actually comes of this.

Don't feed the monsters and eventually they'll starve and go away. Giving into them only causes a feeding frenzy. Tell them "NO!", bop them on the nose, and shoo them away.
