Anybody got any experience installing these? Pros and cons? Best methods?

This is America. We install American drains here.

It's pretty easy. Done two of them before. Just get some water collection boxes, some wrap for the flexipipe, dig your trench and you're there.
I'd look into PVC though with X amount of 8" drains. That's what I installed at my house and it works perfectly.

I wouldn't recommend it, south la soil isn't conducive for French drains. They are VERY difficult to do correctly

Pros...work well, cons? Well they take some work to do.

It's not my favorite sex act in the French variety. I much prefer the Austrian Goodbye

Dig trench
Insert liner
Lay perforated pipe
Add gravel
Cover with soil/grass
Not that complicated

Dig your trench at least a foot wide x whatever depth you need for positive drainage to your day light....or if you can't day light, you will need to dig a dry well....NDS makes a plastic dry well...Google NDS dry well. For the French drain, use perforated pvc as it's easier to get your slope correct with it than a flex pipe. Home depot sells 4" perf pvc. Line your trench with filter fabric ....put 4" of gravel in the bottom. Wrap pipe in fabric and set in place. Then backfill with gravel.

I didn't go the french drain route. I have three catch basin's across the back of my house, and the rear gutter downspouts all get drained to a ditch out back. I used the 4" PVC pipe. It's hard work digging, but worth it.

EZ Drain. Just dig a trench throw this fricker in there. Put dirt on top with sod. Drains perfectly for years and years. I've installed thousands of feet zero problems. simple. Screw all that sand base with rocks on top of shite. This is how you do it. This pic shows a larger one. They sell 4" at Ewing or keeling in br.

I did an outdoor kitchen that was going to require me to jackhammer a bunch of concrete to hook my sink drain to the sewer line. I got plans online for a French drain using a laundry basket filled with rocks and wrapped in that fabric. Figured it was worth a try. It worked great for years until I moved and I invested $50 and one day digging.

It's a pipe has styrofoam encased in a net around it to take all the other steps out of a French drain.
Like everything else mentioned, it's a NDS product.

What is that in the bags?
It's basically styrofoam packing peanuts except a different shape than peanuts

perforated corrugated pipe with a sock around it stuffed with packing peanuts. Works like a champ. Cuts out all the work of a traditional french drain and it will not deteriorate or clog over time like a normal French drain.

Does it just drain into the soil or do you need an "outlet" somewhere?

I usually tie into an outlet or catch basin.
