Ft. Collins is hip, Boulder is super hip

They're all pretty much Denver Jr.

Boulder is right on the mountains and very expensive

Ft. Collins is still close to the mountains, has lots of industry, and cheaper

Boulder is always ranked high as far as smaller college towns go.

Tons of difference. Ft. Collins, somewhat laidback college town with not as many liberals.
Boulder, 3 square miles surrounded by reality....

Boulder-super hipster/hippie/vegan/PC/elitest
Ft.Collins-small town feel with good micro brews, Fat Tire/not as hipster/little brother to CU

I prefer Boulder but it is more expensive. Why not Denver though? I live in washington park and my rent is the same as it was in broadmoor in Shreveport

Only passed through Boulder, but I lived in Ft. Collins for about 6 months. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there FWIW.

Live by DU, or maybe in between Denver and Boulder. You could be about 15 minutes from both

Extremely False.

Both are very liberal towns in very liberal counties. They're trying to ban fracking for goodness sake. They are both very hippie/vegan/hipster/liberal and hubs of national environmental activist groups. Boulder is more uppity and smug than FC. It's filled with what we call trustafarians. Trust fund kids from out of state (California) that think they're hippies.

The only pros about each town.... beautiful settings, lots of outdoor activities to do nearby, and lots of delicious beers.

This is the truth. Boulder for all its hipster shortcomings is one of the prettiest places I've ever been, and the beer is out of this fricking world.

Boulder is nice to visit and get free tea. Way too hippie and liberal.

Fort Collins is close enough to the mountains and has a good small town college vibe.

I would never live in Boulder. They have a tax on all plastic grocery bags. Let that sink in. The city government makes money off of every plastic bag used in a grocery store. The store pays for the bags, and the government makes a profit from them.
