Anybody got any ideas how this works?

You can do better without it.

xplan is basically like invoice minus rebates plus a couple hundred. If you are buying a model with a lot of volume you can talk the dealer into most or all of the holdback.

It's nice. No negotiation.

This! It is a good deal, not a great deal and basically zero negotiation or stress.

Use it as a starting point. I shoot for halfway between it and the A plan

My papaw used one of these plans for Lincolns. His wife was a widow of a former Ford employee. He got a pretty sweet deal. Not sure which plan is which.

I used it on a truck in 2003. I think I paid $16k for a barebones F-150. That when trucks were relatively cheap and you could get them in standard with role up windows.

I had x plan on my truck, didn't use it and got a better deal. Negotiate.

A-Plan
Ford's A-Plan is intended for Ford employees. This is often considered to be the best possible deal out of Ford's discounted Plan offers.
How it's calculated: Invoice - Holdback - Advertising Fee + $275 program fee
Z-Plan
The Z-Plan is identical to the A-Plan but applies to Ford retirees. Since the programs are so similar, they are frequently referenced together as A/Z Plan.
How it's calculated: Same as A-Plan
X-Plan
The X-Plan is actually two programs that equate to a discount for friends, family, and groups with special affiliations with Ford.
The Ford Partner Recognition X-Plan is essentially a supplier discount that members of certain companies that do business with Ford may qualify for.
The Friends & Neighbors X-Plan is a much broader set that can be used by employees and retirees to sponsor purchases by family and individuals outside their family.
How it's calculated: Invoice - 0.4% + $275 program fee
D-Plan
Ford's D-Plan applies to dealer employees and family members.
How it's calculated: A-Plan + $100

I use it every time I buy a Ford product. No hassle give you a price and that's it.

How does one find the x plan
Posted on 1/30/17 at 8:15 pm to slapahoe
Ford partners with certain corporations that their employees can use. Just found out I can use it. Except the 8g that beloved ecoboost cost me will exempt myself from using it.

One of the easiest ways is to join the Mustang Club of America. you may have be a member for a few months before you can get an x plan code.

Some vehicles such as the Raptor and GT350 are exempt from x plan as well.

Depends on the demand for the model. For high demand vehicles, in particular, it's worth using to avoid the time and effort to negotiate a better deal. Probably worth it if you are not a very good vehicle negotiator (I'm not) or if you want to avoid the hassle of negotiating.

I agree with that but I was in Lafayette this week and they already had $11,500 off the 2017 F-250 platinums. They also had 8k off the lariats and it will continue to go down the closer it gets to the 2018's coming out.
