Ok? That's not even the current model.

OR two cars hitting each other head on going 60 MPH.
Scary.
Scary.

Any car hitting a wall at 120 mph would enact carnage like that.

Seems highly unlikely one would survive that crash. And that's why I'll never own a Ford Focus.

The Fiesta ST is a pretty bad arse car, but I don't own one.

Yeah they dead but they were getting good gas mileage before they hit that wall

May as well go out quick and painless.

i dont get it, is this one of those classic OT arguments like 2 vs 288?
It's as if the car was made of paper.
The worst vehicle I've ever owned was a Ford. They are absolute junk in every measurable way......but I don't think anyone is walking away from a head on crash into an immovable object at 120mph even in a decent car.

Yeah.

Scary.
Closing speed of two cars approaching each other = 60 + 60 = 120 mph.
Closing speed of 1 car traveling at 120 mph and stationary wall = 120 + 0 = 120 mph.
F = mV^2
The mass is half in the second scenario because there is only one car, so force is halved even though relative velocities are the same.

I'd live that

Congratulations. You know Newton's Laws of Motion. So does every 8th grader in America.

Actually, assuming that the oncoming car is the same mass as yours, colliding with an oncoming car at 60 MPH is equal to colliding with an ideal immovable wall at 60 MPH. Consider this:
I'm going to set up one of two experiments. I'm either going to ram car A into car B, both of them moving 60 MPH in opposite directions, or I'm going to ram car A into a solid wall at 60 MPH. However, I'm going to put up a shroud so that you can only see car A, you will be unable to see either car B or the wall, whichever one my coin-flip tells me to use.
Because you can now only see at car A and its contents, how would you tell which experiment I'd decided to do?

Can a Focus even get to 120 mph?
