How long before you were able to ditch the crutches?

I just had two tumors removed yesterday, but not being able to around is already killing me.

Neither had I, until the MRI showed that the lumps were likely giant cell tumor.

I would think it would all depend on the type of surgery others had on their feet.

Either way, as much as it sucks on crutches....it's gonna suck even more if you don't follow the doctor's orders regarding bearing full weight on your foot.

10 days on crutches, and a month in walking boot.

I had a giant wart removed from the bottom of my heel. They sent it off for analysis because they were afraid it might be a tumor but it came back just a wart. The damn thing was the size of a 50 cent piece and almost an inch thick.

you may feel uneven when you walk again. Just wad up some paper and put it under your shorter leg, like you would a table

No way to know for sure until they were removed. I would think that I'll know something soon.

Luckily the most pain I've had has been from the crutches and the back pain from sitting/laying all day.

well, I suppose that is good to hear...though back pain can be debilitating as well....and I know from experience that crutches can be painful as hell.

Typically plantar foot sutures will be left in for 14 days. Once removed you will be weight bearing as tolerated in a boot/post-op shoe and immediately begin transition to regular shoe gear.

Path report could be ready by your first post op visit if dr submitted the specimen to pathologists at the hospital. If it got shipped off to a lab outside of the state (which isn't uncommon for expected complex soft tissue or osseous tumors), could take a week longer.

Surgically excised soft tissue GCTs do really well. Metastasis is veeeery rare. You'll be just fine if that's the final diagnosis.

Get one of these. I've had 3 ankle surgeries (tore both Achilles' tendons) and didn't find about these things until after the last surgery. I was pretty pissed to find out about these things after the fact.

I've had surgery on my foot twice and was laid up for MONTHS... shite is painful and it's a 'high traffic' area because it's hard to function without using your feet...

I downgraded from crutches to a cane after ~5-6 weeks...

Good luck, I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Was the bottom of your foot swollen, or was their pain/pressure in a particular spot?
