For the KETO guys/gals, does buying Ketone suppliments work?

And how long would you have to take these to see any effect? Obviously, you would still it the diet. I accidentally ran across a tub of 30 servings on Amazon this is on sale for $170. Says you reach ketosis in less than an hour. How would you use such a product?

You can get into ketosis in a week paying for nothing but food. You can do it even faster if you do cardio to burn up your glucose stores. You can get into ketosis in 2 or 3 days if you water fast to kick it off.
I would not bother with that stuff when you could spend the money on bacon that you can enjoy all the time on the diet if you wanted.

I understand that this would be a supplement to the eating. I just don't understand how it works. How long does the ketosis last? Can it do anything additionally to eating to ketosis? etc...

Just FYI
Thanks. I wasn't about to pull the trigger. I literally did not know that such a product existed until 30 minutes ago, and I'm trying to understand the science behind it.

this stemming from your health thread a few weeks ago?
I have been a diet all month and have gained 3 lbs, despite averaging 1700 calories a day (for 6ft/formerly 185lb male).

either your TDEE is really low and you should get your hormone levels checked or your suck at counting.

My guess is they are just cashing in on the new thing by offering ketones for sale.
I imagine it doesn't do anything consequential since you won't stay in ketosis unless you are eating like the diet.
This would be better https://www.ruled.me/

3.2 GRAMS of Sodium a day for optimal use?

It looks like they dont want you buying it on Amazon - because they sell using a pyramid scheme. They want you to talk to you local muscle head so he can get his free cutlery or whatever.

I have lost weight repeatedly using calorie counting with around 1800-2000 calories. High protein/low carb diet, although I am not below 50g net carbs.
Doubtful, i work out 5-6x per week for 45-60 mins each including HIIT 3x per week. I generally do not eat back my calories.
I weigh or measure everything but vegetables. I doubt celery or cucumbers are making me fat.
Yeah, I have a plan. I am getting a sleep apnea test, as I have unexplained high cholesterol, sugar and blood pressure. There is no family history, I eat very healthy and workout a lot. Sleep apnea can cause higher levels of cortisol, which would explain all of the above.
If that doesn't work, I am going to get tested for fatty liver disease, which could also explain away some of it.
I am also going to give the diet a few more weeks, see if my scale just sucks. My weight is fluctuating 4-6 lbs within a week. Unfortunately its going up.

Never heard of it. Looks expensive though.

Ketosis is a high fat diet. You need more fat than protein. Otherwise you are doing the atkins diet

Avoid. This concept is total BS and doesnt make sense physiologically. Putting your body into ketosis by avoiding carbs causes weight loss. Mimicking this natural state of ketosis by taking ketone supplements would trick a ketone piss test but does nothing for weight loss.

Yeah I'm not seeing the point in this product. Plus don't you need to stay in ketosis to continue the weight loss? Why would you keep needing to take more doses of the supplement if you are still in ketosis?

To good to be true.

This is what I was looking for.
And Hawkeye, yes this originated by my health issues, and I've gone down quite the rabbit hole.
I was checking out different keto products(for cooking) on Amazon and the bastards recommended these. Skeptical Hot Carl was skeptical.

While I've got you guys here, I've been looing for stuff to add a little kick to my food without sugar. I have always been a big ketchup and bbq sauce guy. So, I have found lemon juice, horseradish sauce, sour cream, pick-a-peppa sauce, and of course, hot sauce. All are either 0g or 1g of carbs/serving. Anything wrong with those or any other suggestions? Can you use apple cider vinegar like this?
