Everyone = people with families
I'd live in New Orleans but would never settle down there.

The initial on air reports said they were walking from Bourbon St to their hotel room. No report said they were walking to a car in a parking lot.
That doesn't make any sense (of course, who knows where that information came from - obviously not the guy in a coma). Ergo, I guess it's really just their fault.

Been here almost 20 years. I don't see myself here anymore than another 5-10.

So three of the French Quarter attackers lived in the Covenant House on the edge of the French Quarter.

Three of the four suspects allegedly involved in the brutal beating and robbery of two men on Bienville Street were residents at Covenant House, a youth shelter on the edge of the French Quarter, said executive director Jim Kelly.
Two of the three former Covenant House residents -- Dejuan Paul, 21, and Joshua Simmons, 18 -- are in police custody while the third person remains at large, though Kelly said they have provided his name and other vital information to the New Orleans Police Department.

There's a whole lot coming on the NOPD front but it's not just flipping a light switch....
The crime plan has 100+ cameras with live feed associated with DHS monitoring, 100 new take home cars ordered (200 more approved and following soon), 300 new rifles confirmed ordered, an open check book for state police to augment staffing, and then things like the alarm policy reducing wasted time (and an upcoming rfp for a third party to take over traffic accident reports)
Homocide just got a small pay raise in advance of the entire force having a pay rework to incentivize long term growth/ambition in the force

I want to put faith in the next Mayoral election, but I doubt that will do much.
It's not they mayor where it counts, it's the Governor.
We are going to need a strong Governor with the balls to restore law and order in New Orleans and John Bel Edwards is not the man to do that because there's too many democrat votes there to risk pissing off.
Too bad New Orleans still isn't going to save him in 2019 as either Jeff Landry or Garret Graves is going to crush him like a motherfricker.

If you watched the video you would know the other guy was basically unharmed, just shaken up. He was able to talk about where they were coming from. And where they were going.

Very immature logic. How old are you?
P.S. Just ran across this: "A source told WWL-TV that Paul wore brass knuckles when he allegedly delivered the blow to Byrne’s face and head."
That explains all the blood and head damage.

"99.99% of visitors do not encounter any crime during their stay."
Tell that to the boys from Boston.

But Chicago the crime is really really confined. Here it has really bled over.
Fact. The safe, clean par of Chicago (the north) is badass. The southside is unbelievably bad, but they kill and terrorize their own. New Orleans is just one big disaster.

More, bigger government said the Libertarian. Go back to the Hayride and see what fatass McCay thinks, that skill seems to have evaded you.

My company is hosting a sales meeting there in July and we are staying at Le Meridien. We gonna get robbed if we walk anywhere near the hotel?
ETA: this is a serious question. I'm genuinely concerned about my safety while I'm there.
