i'm looking into my first fixed gear bike and i've settled on the state black label 6061.

i called the local bike shop here in nola that carries the brand but doesn't have anything in stock in the showroom to get measured on or try out.

do any of you guys have experience with fixed gears or more specifically, state bikes.

p.s. also just watched premium rush about a week ago and really got myself hyped up for a fixed gear. i don't have the balls to go no brakes so i'll be adding the front brakes option.

thanks fellas, i appreciate it

this isn't for riding with coeds and drinking beer along the bywater. it's a legit bike for the fraction of what id pay for something top of the line.

i find walking / running a little boring and i just can't do a treadmill at the gym...so a bike it is.

I'm jealous of people who can ride a fixed gear and not hate it.

My beach cruiser is a single speed and I love it, but that doesn't really help you. I got tired of gears breaking / squeaking / etc.

I wouldn't buy that bike

In nola you need a bike with a seat with suspension, meaty tires, and something that can get jacked.
