MERGE LIKE A ZIPPER. USE THE WHOLE frickING ROAD.

And don't get mad just because the person zooming past you on the right is smarter than you are.

I was always cut off the most expensive car I can. No doubt the fricker in the Porsche or AMG will slam brakes and let me in.

They are smarter not just because the lane is open, but that is how they are supposed to merge.

Keep fighting the good fight!

So many people seem unable or unwilling to grasp this concept. And then there are people that acknowledge that it's the best way, but still don't do it that way because no one else does.

When you know the lane is closed a mile ahead because of construction or whatever, and everybody else has moved over, and you zoom all the way up to where the barricade is, I'm not letting you in. Sorry.

I usually just sit in the left lane unless I'm in a hurry, and from that lane I applaud everyone who knows what they're doing and frown upon those who try to block the road.

The worst ones are those who are in the left and try to merge before they're supposed to...like half a mile back. That does more to traffic build up than anything else.

The main problem is, there's A LOT of dumb out there.

Why push the bottleneck back even further than it already is?

The bottleneck is already there. I'm thinking of when one lane is closed, and the remaining lane open lane is stop and go. If it's taken me 15 minutes to go 200 yards, I'm not letting some nimrod in who's trying to cut in ahead of me.

Is that because you're upset that you don't know how to drive efficiently or because you're an a-hole?

How much farther back would they have needed to start merging for you to let them in?

Yeah, I pick my lane and stick with it. I don't hop around, because that fricks things up.

But get really upset with assholes that let like 5 cars in a half mile out of the choke point. I mean, are you fricking running for mayor? Stay in your lane and let one person in at the choke point. It's really not that hard.
