An officer’s dashcam video uploaded to YouTube this week shows a disturbing scene unfold as a police officer stops a man on a bicycle. An unarmed, shirtless, shoeless man is mauled for several minutes by a police K-9. The reason for the stop, according to the uploader, was the cyclist was riding without a light on his bike. As the video begins, the man on the bike is riding away from the police officer, despite the officer telling him to stop. However, after a 15-20 second slow ride down the road, the man eventually stops. That’s when all hell breaks loose. As the man gets off the bike, he puts his hands up and faces the officer. As the officer yells at him to get on his knees, it becomes apparent that the man is in a state of mental duress. If what the uploader says is true, that this stop was for a bicycle light only, what happened next is nothing short of torturous criminal action. Just before siccing the dog on the man, he had apparently caused no harm to anyone and was simply riding his bicycle down the road. It was the officer’s choice to escalate to the graphic violence in the video below.

When you have a dog with his teeth sucked into you pulling the way the dog was to this guy it's hard to "stop resisting, lay still, straighten your legs out, put your hands to your side" like the officer was telling him to do. Your natural reaction when a dog has his teeth in you pulling you is to curl up to protect yourself. This man was not a threat to the officer.

If he would have been polite, not broken the law and done everything the cop said without question he wouldn't be in this situation. He caused the cop to release the dog.

Strip the cop of all clothing and weapons. Then let dog and cop fight to death. Then shoot the winner.

That is pretty disturbing.. Seriously, the guy wasn't a threat to the cop or anyone. How fricking stupid is that cop? The guy had the dog attacking him while the cop was trying to arrest him and he was acting as if the guy was resisting arrest.

no doubt. i was laughing at the cop continuing to tell him to lay still or whatever while the dog was treating him like a chew toy.

He should've the mental toughness to block out the dog biting and listen to the cop. I agree completely. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

Going to start riding my bike with my two loyal growth hormone fed grizzly bears who have custom body armor.

Hoping for some cop like this to try that.

Impossible. The OT always says that you only have to be polite, not break the law, and you won't get fed to their dogs.

I can switch sides for the day too

The guy was resisting arrest by not following commands. He was still a threat until he quit moving.

frick this. That was a stupid fricking cop. The guy slowed his bike down and then pulled to the side on a driveway then raised his hands. What reason did the cop have to release the dog on him? If I were a cop, I would want to beat the shite out of cops like this because its people like him that makes people hate all cops.

If you comply and follow orders there won't be any problem. Why don't people understand this?
