Finding a decent job

Is it possible these days to get a good to decent job without having connections? I have an Industrial Technology Degree(concentrated in Project Management/Industrial Marketing) and Business Management minor with sales experience and it seems like all of that is worthless unless you know someone.
Any advice, tips, etc. on getting my foot in door somewhere in the Baton Rouge area(moving there at the end of the month)?
Thanks

Clean up, and take every opportunity.
I got lucky..got a solid Project Management job with no experience. I graduated in ITEC at ULL

I definitely am. I would travel an hour either way but everyone wants 3-5 yrs of experience haha. Kind of hard to obtain that just graduating college.

Talk to some of your dad's friends at the club this weekend about job openings. You don't need some special connection to get jobs.

Same. College network grapevine threw me a lifeline when I was on my way out of the military.
Thank God every day for my job, because it's not easy to find one you like and can support you well.

Makes me wonder what is the purpose of getting a degree if it doesn't get you anything once you obtain it.

Sounds like you've got a lot to learn.

One of the main purposes of getting a degree is it puts you around others that plan to be in the field, thereby giving you the chance to make connections.
Networking should be a principle objective for any college student.
