Has anyone been to the Fernbank Observatory ?

We've been to the Fernbank many times and are members of the museum. Our favorite is Martinis & IMAX
However tonight we have decided to go to the observatory for the first time.

Experiences? Advice?

So I expect, LOL. However I'm sure one person will post something useful. Was wondering if it gets really busy, thus long waiting times. And/or of the over anxious parents around Emory bring half the school with them crowding the area and barking orders the entire time.

I enjoyed the Fernbank and my kids loved the hands on museum part on the top floor.

I think that's the place I went to a midnight Pink Floyd laser show back in the day.

That was probably Stone Mtn. Were you outdoors on a big lawn/field?

Nope but been there as well for the laser show. Looks like Fernbank did do the Pink Floyd shows. (1980's)

Ah! I remember Stone Mtn. running ads a decade ago about music shows with laser lights but I've never been.
