Not nearly as bad as the title of the video suggests. Nevertheless...

quote:

Juanice Cole belts him twice in the head and then rages at stunned colleagues before going back to hit him again as he remains on the floor not moving.

She then calmly takes her jacket off as colleagues check the man is okay.

The footage seems to show them stop her approaching the victim again.

Cole was fired after the incident on December 2014.

On Tuesday, the Alabama State Personnel Board upheld the sacking of shift commander Edmond Cooper, who had worked for the Department of Corrections for about 13 years, for failing to report the attack, reports Al.com .

Lawyer Adam Morel argued that he should have been demoted or suspended, and that firing him was too harsh.

Department of Corrections' Bob Horton ordered an investigation into the incident at Elmore Correctional Facility.

He said the department expects,"the highest degree of professionalism, integrity and accountability" from every officer."

He added: "The officers treatment of the inmate, and the failure to report the incident, is not in keeping with DOC standards of conduct.

"The department took appropriate action by terminating the former officers as a result of its own investigation."

It is understood a third prison officer resigned to avoid being dismissed.

I believe that most prisoners deserve any bad stuff that comes their way. Without knowing any backstory, this one did not.

That doesn't infuriate me nearly as much as many other incidents that can be found each and every week.

Look at this one. The couple was en route to hospital due to the wife being in labor. Cops pull them over for speeding. Guy explains that they are in labor. He exhibits behavior that the cop finds abnormal and is promptly thrown to the ground and arrested. The woman barely makes it to the hospital in time to save the baby, who had the cord around its neck.

quote:

Dana Reiner gave birth to daughter Abigail within minutes of arriving at the hospital in Crown Point, though her doctor paused the delivery twice to turn Abigail and unwrap her umbilical cord from around her neck. Dana Reiner said the doctor told her that her baby would have died had she given birth on the side of the road.

quote:

James was not with her when their daughter was born because he'd been arrested on probable cause felony resisting law enforcement, although charges were never filed.

What the frick is wrong with these police these days? I remember the good ol' days when my mom was in labor with my youngest brother. A cop noticed my dad speeding along with his flashers on, they pulled up next to each other and my dad yelled the name of the hospital and that's it. The cop did not hesitate. He sped in front of us and cleared a path as my father followed him all the way to the hospital. No questions asked.

That was 1984 though. Today my dad probably would have been at risk of being thrown to the ground and arrested and my brother at serious risk of dying.

Or the cop may have just been shot in the head.

Goes both ways.
