Right outside Royal Sonesta

Another reason not to be on Bourbon past midnight.

animals! A lot of AtM fans are staying in the quarter tonight. I hope it was domestic and not some innocent bystander.

51 weeks out of the year it isn't an issue.

We, my family of four, are staying at the courtyard Marriott on iberville just for the night. We did not know this weekend was the bayou classic. This place is a madhouse. I can only shake my head at some of the stuff we've seen and heard.

Never again.

Did you not do any research before booking your trip? There's no excuse for that in this day and age.

You're a dumbass.

Do you research every event going on in a city before you travel?

Yes, I take the two seconds to do a quick google search before traveling somewhere. It doesn't exactly take a lot of effort.

Well that unlucky. Don't judge the whole city based off this weekend please.

Ahh, yes. The only hazardous week on Bourbon street (or New Orleans entirely) is the one during Thanksgiving.

No. There was a shooting near Tropical Isle in late June of 2014 while I was there.

And then around August of that year as well.

Since he can't judge the city based off of the weekend of the bayou classic, which Mardi Gras is equal if not worse to, then can he judge the city off of these two fine astablishments being robbed with patrons in the restaurants?

We get it, you love New Orleans. You want everyone and their mother to love New Orleans too. Someone opening fire on a park where a music video is being recorded and shooting 16-18 people is just the way New Orleans is. It's something people have to deal with to enjoy the city. It's worth it to you.

I bet if it were you that had the gun misfire 3 times with the barrel pointed at your head last week, you'd be thinking twice about your love for New Orleans.

You really just compared Bayou Classic to Mardi Gras?

I'm sure there are equal numbers of people in the city for those two events. Don't go full retard, it rarely works out.

The easy thing to do here is to automatically assume mass congregation of blacks = shooting but the fact is, this doesn't happen more on Bayou Classic weekend than any other time in N.O. or Bourbon. Hell it may happen less often that particular weekend.

I've got a good friend that bartended down there for many soul bowl's and never was their a shooting. Or a tip.

All this time I thought it was The Media that was to blame. Glad to know it's just the Bayou Classic, one weekend out of the year.
