False advertising lawsuit

I bought a stick of "unscented" Arm & Hammer deodorant that was actually scented. I was shocked when I used it this morning and discovered that it had a scent. In addition, by mid-day, my underarms had a mothball odor. I had to go home on my lunch break, take a shower, and change my shirt. This cost me money, time, gas, a loss in productivity, and I suffered emotional damage. This is deceptive marketing. Do I have grounds to file a lawsuit? Any lawyers on here think I have a case?

You have a great case. A very solid chance to spend $5000 to win $75.

Unscented does not mean odorless.

The very definition of unscented is having no scent. Something that has an odor has a scent. English isn't your first language obviously.

If you are not satisfied with the product, then contact the manufacturer about a refund.

Unscented means that they don't add fragrance.

They should have a disclaimer then explaining that. Last time I checked the definition of unscented isnt ambiguous. This is bullshite advertising.

You're really upset over a little thing.

Unless it is used as a verb in which it can mean to fill with an odor.
Un-scented would mean not filled with an odor.

It's the principle of it all. I purchased it on the assumption that what I was getting is what was advertised. Put yourself in my shoes. For example, say you ordered a shrimp poboy, and what you got was pastrami on rye, would you not be upset?

But you got exactly what you purchased.
Deodorant that did not have fragrance or "scent" added to it. It is intended for people allergic to frangrances.

There are ingredients, and they're usually listed. It's not false advertising and you'll lose. Handout McGee

Sounds like you should move to California and be one of those pricks that sue companies over Prop 65 for a living, costing retail prices to rise because of frivolous lawsuits.
