re: Fake Green Beret Special Forces Marine Corporal Busted In New Orleans

The point we were debating was whether the marine vet in the video was correct in claiming the imposter in the army green beret was in violation of a federal law. You and your other dipshite OT ballers want to say nope because of Stolen Valor 2013. I am not here to find a DA who will prosecute. I am here to set the record straight. Not only is it a crime to dress as a military member, it is also a crime to dress as a postman. So the marine vet was correct in saying it is a federal crime. Just because our courts are full of left wing radicals who will not enforce the laws doesn't change the fact that our nation is a nation of laws and the rule of law. Our DJ will not enforcement many laws, it doesn't make them less valid. And to compare the privilege of wearing a uniform to antiquated Mississippi law is pathetic. You are truly stooping low.

Jesus. Go to Law Scool and then resurrect this thread.

All I get from that is that you are really...really...REALLY mad and are conceding that the law, though still on the books, is not enforced because it may be unconstitutional.
Glad we could come to see eye to eye on this.

Lighten up, Francis. Jesus .. Who gives a frick ?

Why is it so hard for you to understand the difference between claiming military service for tangible benefit and actually putting on a current uniform with insignia in public? Big difference. Stolen Valor 2013 makes the aforementioned illegal but does not change the illegality of the latter.

Stop. Just stop.
Not mad. And all I said was just because you don't have DAs enforcing laws does make then unconstitutional.
You are truly sad.

You resorting to personal attacks over an internet argument says otherwise.

There is a reason they aren't prosecuted. That's what you fail to grasp.

It is called righteous indignation.

they didn't do anything while wearing a legit uniform.

You can sit and lay around on your arse all day long and still be in the military and be honorably discharged when your four years are done?
News to me.
There are lots of vets that apply for and obtain combat action badges even though they never really participated in any. If you have to apply for a badge, chances are extremely high that you don't deserve it.

All we are talking about here is the Marine Vet going all ballistic claiming the imposter was breaking a federal law.
You really want use the Obama courts as a measure of the rule of law? That is discussion for another thread on a different board.

Right. It's its substance that makes it unconstitutional.

Because he didn't break a law if that law is unenforceable.
Unenforceable laws are left on the books all the time.

lol at you for trying to have it both ways.
So we should ignore anything that Obama recently signed into law but you are still harping on a nearly 60-year old law as the basis of your whole argument.
You can't pick and choose like that to win an argument, buddy.

As a civilian I'd wear either uniform.
