Great if you want to call the guy out but you're an attention seeking whore to record it and post it all over the net to get e-pats on the back from others.

Attention seeking whore? Rarely do we see the faces or get the names of those who are recording it. Could they do it in a more respectable fashion? I suppose so. But the premise behind the yelling and the recording is to try and publicly shame these guys out of doing it.

Both sides of these films are douches IMO Great if you want to call the guy out but you're an attention seeking whore to record it and post it all over the net to get e-pats on the back from others.

The military guys do come off bad a lot of times in these videos but I would probably react the same way if I had watched friends die and then saw some douche acting that way. I do agree there is no reason to post it online, it would be better to buy the guy a bunch of beers and then pull him out in an alley when he was hammered and kick the shite out of him.

Did you watch it?

Yes, it went the same way as the other videos go. These stolen Valor guys are mental cases, but the military guys confronting them are just as bad. Just like in other videos they think it's ok to put their hands on them. I just don't get it. They aren't helping themselves look good by doing that, nor are they helping the cause.

You can tell that there's a lot of emotion behind it, but it doesn't excuse the physical handling of these idiots. And whose to say that the guy's filming are being 100% truthful too? There's a whole lot of dumbassery to go around in these videos.

You'd think that these guys would eventually learn that it's not a crime to walk around in a fake uniform.

I'm curious how the real Marine in the vid retired as an E-3.

He very well could be and probably is medically retired for getting blown up/shot.

But I also know plenty soldiers who medically retired as E-3 and E-4 b/c they faked shite/were pussies.

More rotten individuals and "look at me soldiers/marines"

These stolen valor videos have become such a rage, some of the really good ones have been caught for being staged and most of the uniform knowledge is common to any high school cadet that has been in ROTC for a semester.

We all know anyone impersonating servicemen are dirtbags or mentally off, but I do find it odd no one takes offense or calls out these "G.I. Joe's" for referring to when they were a Soldier/Marine. Most of them don't talk like that, you are always a Soldier or Marine, forever.

Unless you are dishonorably discharged or something horrible like that.

I thinks it is funny when the guy with the camera builds up to "you are committing a federal offense."

It's only a crime if you get something of value for it. Anyone is free to walk down the street in a uniform claiming to be an Air Force SEAL and Navy Ranger.

basically the douchebags filming it hate freedom

tempted to outsmart (which should be easy) your average marine and steal some valor, get my arse beat, and get a pay day. seems like an easy case.

I think I was stolen valored once. I have a Texas Rangers alphonso Soriano tshirt jersey. The front just says "rangers" across the front. I'm a fatty and clearly not a ranger. Dude walks up to me kinda with an attitude and this was the conversation:

"Rangers, huh?"
Yeah
"Where'd you go to ranger (or maybe some other school he called it) school?"
What?
Raises voice "what school did you go to, RANGER!"
Uh, it's a baseball jersey, bro.
"Oh..."

It is a federal crime to wear any branch of service's uniform if you are not in the said branch. So if you are a civilian it is not permitted. If you are in a branch it is not permitted to wear another branch's uniform.

So that is either a civilian and trying to pass himself off as a member of the military or he is a Marine and in an Army uniform. Either way he violated the same federal prohibiting unauthorized wearing of a military uniform. It is also a federal crime to claim a medal or ribbon or award that had not been awarded.

Nope.

Civilians are covered by the Stolen Valor Act of 2013, which states that it is not a crime unless they benefit from it financially.

Let's be honest, what percentage of these young guys have actually seen their friends die in battle?
