Facebook security issue

I am by no means someone who goes to great lengths to "live off the grid" but I'm pretty pissed about something I found out earlier. Long story short, l had a neighbor who I was not friends with on Facebook type my phone number in the search bar and it came up with my profile. I have never linked my phone number to my Facebook account. I tried the same thing with other friends who haven't either and the same thing happened. I looked at the settings and although they have my number, despite the fact I never entered it, the settings say that it's only shared with me. I found a way to remove it but I thinks it's complete crap and I'm assuming they slipped it in the fine print. Search your own number and let me know if I'm crazy.

That's fair, I don't mind getting flamed on I just wanted to put it out there should someone else feel uncomfortable with their number being so easily searchable.

Facebook constantly asks me to add my phone number to my page. It's not a security issue, it's a feature.

Of course it does and I've never never agreed or added it, yet my number was there. I looked online and apparently if you download the app your number is automatically linked.
Check your number and if it doesn't come up check someone close to you. 5 of the 6 people I tried came up.

Yeah, you need to set that to only visible to you. It's never been an issue for me. If you have Facebook on your mobile device, that's normally how they link it.
