Any of you baws think you can handle this?

The FAA is putting out a "public" bid for air traffic controllers for people with no prior experience. The bid will be open from August 8-15 on Usa Jobs site. Here's a LINK with more info.

Isn't this a potential $100K job? Everyone on the OT is already making six figures.

I'm sure the Syrian refugees would work out!

Maybe someone will take a pay cut for the challenge.

What's a decent average for an ATC? 7 safe landings out of 10? I could probably hit that.

Any landing that someone walks away from is a good landing.

I took the exam in the late 80's, its not easy. You have to score above 90 to be in serious contention, or it was that way then.

It's 70 to be "qualified." 85 and above is "well qualified." They won't even look at you if you score below 85.

The current AT-SAT is comprised of eight sections. The Letter factory and scan parts are computer based exercises designed to assess spatial awareness and multi-tasking. LINK

I'd take the test just to put my 90 next to my 30 ACT.

There is an age requirement, you cannot be older than 31 to apply

ETA: actually it's over 30

What if your arms are torn off in the crash and your face is so horribly disfigured that your monstrous ugliness repels friends, family and even caregivers so much that you are forced to live out your miserable existence in total isolation, yet your legs were unharmed so you could walk away -- was that a good landing?

Has to do with the amount of time and training you need before you're a full-fledged controller. And they also make you retire young too.

It's still considered a good landing. You just have to add a slash to it--like a "good/fricked" up landing.
