SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
Extra security has been brought in for what authorities describe as a "high-risk" federal trial in Shreveport.

The man on trial, 55-year-old Francisco Antonio Colorado Cessa, aka "Pancho," was previously convicted in Texas for money laundering as part of the Los Zetas Mexican drug cartel.

In that trial, prosecutors said that after their drug lord died, Cessa remained loyal to his old friend's criminal organization, laundering drug money through the U.S. quarter horse industry. Los Zetas, known to the U.S. as the largest drug cartel in Mexico, recently began identifying itself as 'Cartel del Norte,' or Cartel of the North.

So for the past 3 days, Helicopters have been circling the Federal Courthouse, and FBI agents with dogs have been sniffing all the vehicles in a 2 block radius. They're looking for bombs I'd guess.

Then this happens yesterday...

Alleged Mexican cartel member rushed to Shreveport hospital

I'm no FBI agent, but I sense a bit of frickery going on here.

Stay tuned...

If I'm that paramedic, I'm less than thrilled to be on that run.

Yeah, those guys don't frick around. The Sinaloa folks whacked an entire apartment complex about 5 or 6 miles from me as the crow flies.

ETA: The Zetas are probably the most dangerous cartel out there. They're ex-military guys that decided to start their own operation.

that's over simplifying it a little bit.

We're talking special forces who were the enforcement/military wing of the Gulf Cartel

Seems like a scene out of Narcos. shite is very interesting but I don't want to be within miles of that courtroom. Imagine the people on the jury, court reporter, and other ancillary parties. frick THAT!

Haughton PD is on the security detail too. Nothing to worry about. What could go wrong with those two crack squads?
