The slobber. Oh! The slobber!

They're cool, lovable, extremely smart. Their mannerisms are very funny.

I have one that's a year old. She's a really good dog and loves people. Wherever I go, every single person that sees her wants to pet her.
The only bad things are that she can be stubborn and she wasn't cheap.

We had one in college, slept or shite 23.5 hours of the day. That 30 minutes they were awesome.

French bulldogs are pretty great.

I've owned 3, of course now they cost a ton (2-3k) and I will say some of the best dogs I've owned. Very lovable, fun, but the upkeep is hard. Cleaning the folds, skin issues, slobber, and the gas. It is almost like owning a baby.

Consider the bulldog...
A grotesque monstrosity born of relentless inbreeding. Riddled with sinusitis, crippled by joint pain. Chronically flatulent. A kindly pet, or humanity's cruelest mistake?

You mean English bulldogs? There are also American and French bulldogs.
Most people get them bc of how friendly and silly they are. Fun pets to have around and that's just about all they do which is fine for most people. They aren't very good for anyone wanting an active running/swimming dog.
Lots of very bad breeding practices though and this has lead to the development of some undesirable hereditary diseases. they can become expensive if you choose poorly.

Mine was bred by a family friend that I know uses very responsible breeding practices. She's very healthy and active. The only issue I had was 1 eye got cherry eye when she was about 3 months old.

Seems like that cherry eye comes up no matter how good the line is.
Veterinary surgeons, dermatologists, and ophthalmologists are kept busy by English and French bulldogs

They're smart animals with strong personalities.
They don't live long enough, though.

I figured it was their breath and the sounds they make when winded...and 'windy' tbh.

When I was in college, I briefly dated a woman who brushed her bulldog's teeth twice a day. That dog's breath was still rancid.
