Ex-NFL Star Watches Home Trashed Live via Twitter

quote:

Former NFL offensive lineman Brian Holloway initially thought the Twitter photos showing young people partying at his family's second home in upstate New York were a hoax. Then he saw pictures of teenagers standing on the dining room table he bought with his Super Bowl bonus.

Holloway's rural vacation home was trashed during a Labor Day weekend party attended by up to 400 teenagers. Holloway said the partiers caused at least $20,000 in damage, breaking windows and doors, punching holes in walls and spraying graffiti. He saw the whole thing unfold live on Twitter — and now he's using the teens' own posts to reveal their identities and to try to set them on a better path.

Been looking on this site where he posts the names/twitter handles. Most of them still have their twitters up and appear to be unrepentant. If I was him I'd sell the place for whatever I could get, and never go back to that POS part of the world again, except to testify in court. I'd spend whatever money would have gone to fixing up the place on lawyers to make the lives of those kids and their parents miserable for a while. The guy gave motivational speeches to the local schools and those kids turned around and shat on him. LINK

Hopes to save them by having them help clean up the place? BS! If they are underage, sue their parents ang restore the house, plus get back personal items or their value. Tough love is what they need not a motivational speech.

This. Since he's a motivational speaker, he probably feels compelled to take the "let's give them a second chance and put them on the right track" approach.

If he doesn't want them to get thrown in jail, fine by me. But I would make those who have the courage to come forward clean it up and then work to pay off the damages in full. For those who don't come forward, I would hunt those down and make sure they are prosecuted.

Yes. The owner was in Florida. The house is in Massachusetts.

I'm still trying to figure out how exactly the party was there? Didn't see any mention of it in the article and I read through the 300 site briefly, but didn't see anything there either. It did say the guys son went to highschool in teh area, I think? But no mention of him starting the party.

It had nothing to do with his son. Just a bunch of random kids broke into the empty house and threw a huge party.
