A former NFL player being sued by his insurance company after he took part in Survivor even though he has a disability rating says he was able to get through the show with 'pain medication'.

So, he is disabled enough to collect free checks but when it's time to go on reality TV, he is not so disabled.

During a TV interview, which is set to be broadcast on Monday evening, Culpepper ripped off his shirt in frustration and showed the camera his torn bicep before asking: 'Is this normal?'

I think part of the appeal of the show is that it includes a range of people, and some of them advance by political means/team building, or wits.
he can be disabled re his NFL employability and still participate.
case will be interesting.
If I were him, I would go for a judge to decide.

I went to high school with Brad. He's kind of a douche.

And, yes, his tattoo says "Judge" - his kids are named Judge, Honor, and Rex.

He's comes from a long line of Gator football players and attorneys.

He's a attorney now, too.

I watched the season with him on it. He certainly didn't make it as far as he did (which wasn't very far if I remember) on wits. It was mostly brawn.

He is not "Collecting checks". He got a one time settlement almost four years ago based on the bicep, a wrecked clavicle, and a bad knee.

He is an attorney in Tampa. Him and his fake and bake partner have a commercial on tv every few minutes. They are personal injury/accident commercials.

This guy is a personal injury attorney and cries foul when an insurance company doesn't agree with his claim he is disabled (and based on his actions on tape, he is not) and wants their money back.

Welcome to the legal system, bud....
