New Roads hasn't changed much since i grew up here 30 years ago. We do have a huge arse bridge to nowhere now though and they are building a Super Wal_Mart.

DeRidder is pretty bad, but we go pheasant hunting every year in Kimball, SD. I leave Thursday for this hunt, no shit, this town is exactly as it was in the 1950's.

The midwest is full of towns like this. All up through NE, SD, ND, IA are towns exactly like this.

Recently I was in Memphis, Missouri-a town on the MO/IA/IL border which was the posterboy for time machines...

Wasn't just the buildings, but the people dressed like they were from a long time ago. There are Mennonites all over the place there too, which adds a little antiquity when you're going through the town. You saw cars from the 60's all over the place with super old people driving, which was probably a family car from when they first became common.
