So you find out the firm you work at is being purchased in 6 months and everyone will be let go. You aren't supposed to know and leaking that info or even letting people know anything was awry could have serious legal/financial repercussions so that's out question You you work with a bunch of really good, competent people that you want to let know to GTFO now though. WWTOTD?

You'd be one of the first to go if you spelled at work like you spelled your topic.

Put your own escape plan in motion. Lock it down then spread chaos.

McDonalds isn't buying Wendy's anytime soon, chief. Get back to the grille.

How?

Eta: lock down another job. After that, use a burner email to email everyone you want to know behind a hide my arse ip and do it on a public wifi. Make them aware of the situation. Don't forget to email yourself also, so they aren't suspicious. As long as you can hold a poker face, you won't get caught. I'm just curious of what kind of legal repercussions you could face?

Lock down your next opportunity then drop hints to your close coworkers. "Have you thought about what else is out there?"

Well, posting on a message board ain't the right answer.

Seriously, if you're sure that no one can identify it's you, go ahead and send an anonymous letter to a few coworkers....either via us mail or on their desk or car.

You want I cya for sure, but also doing the right thing by your coworkers again "the man" is a moral obligation.

I'm sorry that your father-in-law is selling the company, but he didn't promise you lifetime employment when you married his daughter.

Take care of yourself first! Find another job. Turn in your 2 week notice. Then when coworkers ask, tell them you heard rumors of a sale and sackings

Depends on how you came across the info. I'd say it's a blessing in disguise bc you get a paid 6 months to look for a job. I'd also tell those close to me at work so they could do the same.

could be to test to see if you're trustworthy with keeping info. If they hear about it, then they'll know it was you.

6 months away, any good reason it will take that long?

Leak it. Unless your employer knows you are the only one who knows. Your coworkers deserve to at least have an idea that they may need to polish their resumes.

You need to be 100% sure your information is legit.

Don't be this guy (and I know of four occasions where this has happened): Directed to take a piss drug test. Takes the test, then says "I'm going to quit now because the test will be positive." Guy resigns, when the drug test comes back, it is negative.
