Going in Oct and have never been.

Probably gonna just do three days and stay at the park.

Anyone done this? What's the best way to experience the festival and the other parks?

Mainly going to be focused on Epcot, but would love to hear any experiences people have had when going during that time.

Around the world at epcot has I think 12 different "countries" that all have their own drinks from said country. Do 1 from each. Even taking your time it only took a few hours to make the full circle and i was so blasted they had to drag me out of there. Good times.

I had a great time doing that as well; however, I think AZ is describing an event that has even more to eat/drink.

Ya... The food and wine festival happens for about a one month stretch in the fall.

Wife and I did the food/wine fest at Epcot a few years ago.
Do what we did; don't drive, hire a private car or taxi to and from. That way you are free to enjoy the beverages without worry.

Make reservations @ Le Cellier for dinner in Canada. Then start in Belgium for breakfast & have a waffle with a flight of beer; Leffe, hoegaarden, & Stella Artois.
Get the wife a Grand Mariner slushy in France then head toward Morocco. Eat & drink your way around the world. Go into the gift shop in Japan for a sake tasting... continue around the world & good luck making your dinner RSVP in CANADA!

You need a backup plan in case you get tired of all of the quality food and drink.

Go south on World dr. until you get to Hwy.192. Exit right, then go about three miles. There is a Shoney's on the left.

He's talking about the Food and Wine Fest. That's different from standard EPCOT

#1....where are staying?

#2....I fricking LOVE the Food & Wine Fest

You need to get to EPCOT early and get to the World Showcase as close to 11am as possible. The best part is that there are so many food booths, you don't need to worry about finding places for lunch or dinner. You'll be filling up on all the goodness from the ton of booths there. The World Showcase doesn't technically open until 11am, BUT, you can get to the booths at the front of the lagoon and on either side up until China on the east side and France on the west. So there are many booth (UK, Greece, Canada, Brazil, Mexico and others) you can get to before 11AM. I THINK they open the booths earlier (10:30 maybe). I recommend getting a copy of the guide map and looking at the food offerings ahead of time. If you're going with a group, grab a couple of food items at each booth and share. There are so many booths that you can get full pretty quickly....so pace yourself. Also, at 11am, it sometimes works to head all the way to the back of World Showcase to the American Adventure pavilion and then work your way back towards the front. That way, you can hit several booths with minimal lines before the crowds start to get to the back.

Most importantly, try to stay away from the weekends (including Friday). They get ridiculously crowded because the locals come out in full force.

Where are you staying? We booked through magicalvacationstravel.com. They have some exclusive arrangements with the poly, beach club and a few other moderate hotels during October. We were able to stay at the beach club for the same price as the Port Orleans through Disney.

It is the area at the "back" of Epcot with the countries. You can walk right from the Beach Club into this area of Epcot. Real convenient if you are planning on doing a good amount of wine and boozing LOL. Definitely worth it to check with the company in my link. They were rougly $1k cheaper than Disney on a 4 night plan. As soon as you make the reservation with them they turn it over to Disney and you can make your reservations, make payments etc.

Lots of foreign women. I was there one year and it rained, so the international food and wine festival quickly became the international wet t shirt contest.

Is it worth going to the other parks? We will be there for three days... Or should we just focus on food and wine

Frog Tours Crowd Calendar

Could experience MK in a full day, leaving two for Epcot with park hopper option if you want to check out HS or AK. I wish we had spent another day at Epcot - it's awesome.

This.

Book through the Disney site. Stay close to Parks. Port Orleans is inexpensive, close, and nice for the price.
