It's been a week and street after street still has tree branches at the curb. I don't think they have enough crews working on it.

You could do it yourself and help the community as a whole...

There are still elevated signs with damage from Gustav around BR

Robots will be deployed to remove debris as they fall to the ground when St. George is formed. For free!

Well, the people who have huge pieces in their yards have done nothing to bring them down to the appropriate acceptable size for the city to pick them up.

It's what we pay taxes for. This wasn't a Gustav type of event and I'm really surprised it has taken this long.

There is more to pick up. It's only been one week. Chill out.

Exactly. This wasn't a Gustav event, so no federal government funds available to help with resources to pick everything up and pay for it.

And then like a good neighbor, we will send them over to BR and to their trash pick up for them.

We all know without SG they will close shop.

They pick up debris like this once a week. In my neighborhood, that day is Tuesday. The storm hit on Monday, and stormed again Monday night, making it hard for anyone in the neighborhood to get all the debris to the street by Tuesday morning. Almost every house in my neighborhood has trees out front, I am just hoping they have more than a few trucks per neighborhood tomorrow morning.

Unnamed storm so it falls under the garbage companies contract and they will drag feet b/c they will lose money picking it up with their own knucklboom trucks. Probably will take a month to get it picked up maybe longer.

There were 15 Asplundh trucks lined up on Old Hammond yesterday afternoon. They are the "whisper chipper" people that shred trees and limbs ... Looks like the city is doing what it can.

In my neighborhood the collection is on Monday and I didn't see a single truck.

Is Allied/Republic still the garbage company for EBR?

It'll get picked up on its weekly cycle. Not that complicated.

Ours is on Tuesday. So the neighbors didn't get everything cleaned up until Tuesday PM/Wednesday and will get removed tomorrow.

Please report back Tuesday night if your debris actually gets removed. I'm guessing it's not going to happen.

And like other people said. They're obviously working. It's a bit different when 95% of the addresses in the parish have items to pick up

They are not working for the city and running around chipping debris On site is not part of the parishes debris plan. It has to go to a dump site so the quantity in yards or tons can be tracked. Asplundh is here working for one of the utilities or maybe dotd since old Hammond is a state road. During gustave dotd contracted separately to have debris removed from along old Hammond and it was made very clear by the city and Ceres that old Hammond did not qualify.
