We have an unbelievable public library that very few people know about. It has tons of services that can be utilized.

for 1 dollar you submit your design and then they print it out for 10 cents an ounce.

All libraries should be privatized. I'm forced to pay $300 annually to that bullshite.

Well go use it. The library at Goodwood is fantastic. They have a lot of services for the kids, a teen room, and a genealogy. Go learn something instead of watching reality tv.

My wife's aunt lives in New Orleans and she gets tons of ebooks with our library cards. I was astonished to find out that the Orleans Parish Library doesn't have much of an ebook selection -- that seemed to me the sort of thing some private or public group would have beefed up post-Katrina.

At one point ('80s-'90s) this was the third busiest library in the US, though I doubt that's been true since Bluebonnet was built

I've made use of it. I choose not to publicize it order to keep the masses away.

They also have a massive telescope that they will let you borrow once you've gone to one of their free classes that details how to properly use it and care for it. It isn't a very long presentation, and then you can borrow the telescope for a week at a time.

I read constantly. I currently don't even have a tv to watch something on. I just don't think I should be forced to pay for a library in 2015.

It's been rebuilt in the past few years. I dont know if it's on the list but it's a lot bigger than what it was.

Highly doubt this, but my comment wasn't really calling you out, it was more of a generalization.

Seriously, the amount of services that the libraries offer is really outrageous and its more outrageous that no one uses them to their full potential. It's worth the trip over there to check it out.

My only problem with the EBR Public Library is that their budget is huge (about 4 times that of BREC).

I guess their budget needs to be so high due to all of the wasting of money that they do.

I wanted to get back into reading. So, I recently got on board with the Overdrive App on my android(lets you checkout e-books from ebr library just like paper books). So fricking cool.

Yea that whole expansion into Jones Creek, Bluebonnet, and a few other locations around the parish took alot of the traffic.

But circa 1985, Goodwood library was a place to be seen for real. Was busy year round and all kinda shite going on.

Yeah, and we should stop paying for public schools too. You know, I don't drive on most of the roads in town. I shouldn't have to pay for those either.
