Too many boxes, charges, and a bill that keeps climbing. $230 and then paying Charter for internet service.
Do not want to jump back and forth every two years.

What are some of the hacks everyone is doing to beat this high cost of shite TV. ??
Little help my tech brothers....

Call and tell them the price is too high and you're switching to cable unless they do something. I do this every year or 2 with AT&T when the 1-2 year agreement runs out. Call and complain about price going up, then they offer me something better and I just have to re-up on the contract for another 1-2 years, depending on the whatever special they're offering at the time.

AT&T bundles Uverse internet now with DirecTV since they bought them out. Probably come out a good bit cheaper bundling with AT&T/DTV instead of having separate internet through Charter.

I just dumped them too last week. My apt complex offers free Xfinity so I took it.

Throw a friend or family member $20 a month or so for their DTV account logins. It won't affect them in any way and that will give you access to everything via numerous apps/devices.

No hacks needed.

Pay for Netflix, download Popcorn Time and pay for a VPN. Enjoy. We trade our Netflix login to someone for their HBOGo info so we have access to that, as well.

I don't care if people say this is illegal, HBOGo and Netflix don't seem to care either.

I've been considering dumping them as well due to high costs. When you called to cancel, did they offer any retention special deals?

So three weeks ago, I called Direct TV and told them I was cutting the cord. I explained that I paid way too much for TV (about $180/month) and never watched it because of Netflix and Amazon. I told them I was gong to get PS Vue and HBO Now and be done with it.

They agreed to match the price at $62/month (it's actually $3 more but close enough). So I have four boxes, DVR, most of the channels, plus HBO for $62/month.

It may worth making the call.

I did the same exact thing and have the same exact set up. Im at $120 for both Uverse internet and DTV. It was over $200 when I called and complained. Three people couldn't help me but ole Mr. Retention Department Manager hooked up the "loyal customer price" when I finally said just cut the cord.

Damn. I just added direct tv for the low costs. Their bundle with AT&T was too good to pass up. I'm now getting UVerse 50 and DTV Xtra package for $104/month.

Im sure once the 2 year agreement is up I'll have to switch back to cox internet and Dish TV since sign up deals are the only way to conveniently save money (I tried streaming, not for me). REALLY glad to be done with Cox for 2 years though.

Get at least 100 Mbps internet service. Go buy a Kindle Firestick. Load Kodi, never pay for TV again
