My dryer will not start for some reason. Plugged in and no circuit has broken.

When I hit the start button nothing happens but I can hear a faint click sound.

Any ideas? Is it done?

You plugged it in and pressed start, so I am out of ideas.

Broken belt is my guess. Generally an easy fix.

Won't it still come on with a broken belt and just not rotate?

Real thin dress socks used to always get stuck in my parents old dryer and you would have to pull them out through this small crevice. They weren't really hard to see if you just looked in

flip the breaker off and back on...

if there is power to the unit, there is not much troubleshooting that you can do without a multimeter...

Dryer isn't coming on at all though. Just a click when you hit start button.

Like when a starter goes out on a car. It clicks but won't actually turn on

Electric dryers are usually on their own circuit and the breaker is typically in its own box mounted onto the main power panel outside your home, not in the inside circuit breaker panel.

Check that.
