Have you ever at least hunted artifacts(arrowheads and stuff) locally? That's pretty fun and interesting, some points can be pretty valuable too.
Nah, but I did read a lot of national geographic magazines and history books, and I religiously watched the Discovery and History channel when I was younger.

That's my reality. No regrets at all, other than the grind that the teaching profession has become.
Dream: play football at LSU, then the NFL. Yeah, right

What area do you live in? I have hunted arrowheads and stuff off and on all my life. You probably won't discover any lost civilizations, but it's fun to find a rare valuable arrowhead, and learning where to look.

A ton, but it goes back to mistakes a few years ago. Could have ended well but clearly didn't

Dream & reality one and the same. 62 years old and still don't feel like I'm working for a living. Follow your bliss.

Dream - Professional Golfer, thought I might get there. Blew a disc and have never been the same.
Now I'm an analyst. Which ain't bad. Kind of wish I'd taken a shot at architecture though.

I wanted to do advertising and promotions for the NBA/NFL, but ended up doing case management for life insurance.

I wanted to play football for LSU and be an attorney. One best friend played football for LSU, the other became an attorney.

Want: band director / music minister
Reality: IT manager
Can't complain, I'm much happier in IT... after all I left music education after 4 years in the program and got a different degree. Just wasn't for me

Man, I think you have some great areas there, nearby, to do some arrowhead hunting.
farmland near creeks, stay away from Federal property until you learn all of the rules.
If you really look hard, you will find broken points and pieces of pottery your first day,you might catch the bug after that.
Fresh water, with any type of higher ground nearby,is always a good place.

I saw an old writing of mine from pre-school where I stated I wanted to be a wolf when I grew up. Given that people can identify as whatever these days, I think I may just be changing professions.
