In other news...

No, seriously. There are tons of other news stories this morning. Are you going to post all of those too? No pertinent info? No behind the scenes, personal observations? No smart arse remarks? You just post a link that there was a double homicide? Wow.

I'm thinking domestic violence or meth/heroin related.

That stretch of Hwy 1064 has been bad. Drug related no doubt.

must have been a busy night then, cause the news I saw last night was particularly uninteresting. Lead stories on WBRZ last night:
1.Veteran denied ride on CATS bus b/c he had a dog with him.
2.DS police chief still fired.
3.Lobdell fire dept. gets pink truck for...(you guessed it)...breast cancer awareness

at least this story is actually newsworthy.

I read something a little while back that took the population of each city and incidents of violent crime to find the likelihood that you would be the victim of violent crime in each given city. Hammond was #1 in the state. Of course there's some statistical flaws in that statement, but still, not a great place.

Most of the violent crimes happen in very specific parts of town. A lot of flaws in those statistics is an understatement.

Updated the op with new information. I know all in the greater Hammond area are very concerned with this heinous crime.

Not surprised.. Tangipahoa has gone to shite in the last 10 years. Allot of it is due to the parish jail being outdated and the sheriff's office not having funding or man power.

The Sheriff's office is one of the lowest paid in the state and the thugs POS in the area know they won't spend more than 1 day in jail due to overcrowding. If you look at the court dockets, these fools are getting 5-10 year sentences for crimes and all of it is suspended with 3 years of probation.
No wonder why there is more and more crime in the area. This is just the tip of the iceberg for more to come.

Over there in that area they have a really bad heroin, prostitution and gang problem.

Pretty much a bunch of young ignorant non-swimmers doing what they do best.
