Dog Trainer Recommendations in BR

Anyone have a dog trainer they have used and would recommend in the BR area? I'm looking for just general training, with an emphasis on resource guarding, if such a thing is available. I would rather have someone work with my dog one on one (with my husband and me there also), as opposed to a "class" setting like at Petsmart or something. TIA!

Duck Russell? I think.

Larry Benoit or the capital city obedience club.

Dick Russel did pass away. Larry Benoit took over his business though. Anyone have experience with him? His hours for one on one would make it very difficult to train with him (middle of the day, weekdays only), but I would be willing to go through it if it was worth it.

Bu-Yah training if you want a good bird dog.

Larry Benoit does a bang up job but he's busy. So be prepared to wait. They do classes in the evening over several weeks. It's a group class but it's a great class.

I've worked with Larry. He is very passionate and will work his tail off to help you. You pay for the basic class once and can retake it as many times as you want.
I do more with the capital city group because I want to do competitive obediance and agility. Still do weekend field socialization with Larry.
I suggest you go watch one of Larry's and the capital city group's classes. It will help you make the best decision.

Thank you. I will likely do that. I really just want him to stop with the resource guarding. I'm not really looking for agility and competition training.

Well. That show how long it has been since we've had a dog trainer thread, then.

With all the access to training videos via YouTube etc, you would think people would be doing this at home.

How silly of me. Of course the correct answer is YOU TUBE VIDEOS!!! I can't imagine why I didn't think of this first before coming to an internet message board asking for recommendations. What a dunce!
