Hundreds of mourners attended the funeral for a northern Indiana doctor who prosecutors say was slain by a man because he would not prescribe his wife opioids.

quote:

Prosecutors say 48-year-old Michael Jarvis of Mishawaka fatally shot Graham, an Athens, Illinois, native, last Wednesday outside a Mishawaka medical center two hours after Graham refused to prescribe highly addictive painkillers to Jarvis' wife during an appointment. Jarvis then fatally shot himself at a friend's home.

So, woman obviously has an opioid addiction. I wonder if the slain doctor is who originally prescribed her. Also, I've been told by doctors and nurses that people seeking these prescriptions are by far their biggest headache.

This dude puts his wife on one hell of a pedestal. Killed the doctor and himself because she didn't get her way? Damn.

You can turn your back on a man. But never turn your back on a drug.

I'd love to hear stories from ER docs about people that come in looking for opiates. I bet they see some shite. Please share some of your stories....

We've posted here a thousand times how this Rx med scourge is literally killing communities. The poor and the poorer don't have a prayer (and don't have the wisdom to know the difference).

Read this wrong the first time

Do they have the serenity to accept the things they cannot change?

If the DR didn't want that life he shouldn't have been dealing drugs. Drs and big pharma are to blame for this epidemic.

I always get a laugh when I have a patient who says they have no pain, and then the family member(s) in the room ask if they should get a prescription for Norco just in case

Why can't the worthless sacks of shite in our society just kill off other worthless sacks of shite? Don't kill a man who has worked his entire life to do good for the community.

Drug addicts should rounded up and slaughtered.

So Dr's don't over prescribe? There are plenty of examples of rogue Drs who get caught, not to mention the ones that don't.

Plus why do children need to get prescribe meth and hard opiates?

But yes drs are infallible.
