Just joined one. What I find is there is more opportunity. Also depends on your company's culture. Mine is great, and I am already taking advantage of those opportunities. Wife is working for one of the largest as well (another company).
We both, at one point in time, worked for a small local company for years and it was a nightmare. All the things that would supposedly happen if we had worked for a large corp happened to us at the smaller company:
1) Minimal vacation time
2) Arbitrary losses of earned bonuses (literally on a whim)
3) No merit raises for years despite exceeding all goal for the job we were hired for
4) Other employees were let go for arbitrary reasons or because a terrible manager in another department didn't like them (very often NOT performance related)
5) Employees in one department (which was 90% of the company) expected to work on average 60-80 hour weeks while the other group worked minimal hours and often got 2-3x the bonuses.
I could go on and on. My large company has made it clear I won't experience any of the above....
Point being not all companies are the same. Don't fall for the stereotype but if you see something alarming, leave.

Second this. I work for a "big" company. Pay is pretty good, and benefits are great. The bs isn't so bad once I moved to management.
Wouldn't do it again though. I'd prefer to do something I loved rather than something I'm good at.

CCD, don't post any real stuff here.
Most of us just post here for fun or the occasional good-natured argument.
However, there are some real horse's asses here that are just small enough and under-endowed enough to break balls over minor crap. They, of course, lack the testicles to confront you IRL, but they would contact your employer to jam you up.

I work for a company in top 12 on Fortune list. I came to them thru acquisition and have had more issues with pay and benefit confusion than ever, the company prior was in the 500 but it felt like a mom and pop.

Interned at Adobe software last summer. I graduate from LSU this fall in EE and already have 4 offers. I'm going to accept Amazons offer and move to Seattle after I graduate. Life will be monetarily good!!

I worked for Schlumberger (100k+)..... It was the pits. I quit and started consulting in a bad downturn.....and couldn't be happier.
They've fired tens of thousands of people and to them you're just a number.

Biggest company I have ever worked for post college had 30 employees. I work for myself now.....I don't think I would survive in a corporate environment.
