I do a lot of business lunches and noticed today that everyone around me was eating pure garbage. literally every table, every person was eating a big arse hamburger or chicken fried steak, fried chicken, etc.

I was the one with the grilled chicken salad with no cheese or bacon and light dressing on the side

I also always look up calorie content before I go eat somewhere. am I in the minority here? it looks like most people don't give a shite.

I just cant imagine eating 1,500-2,000 calories for lunch like that. maybe that's why 70% of Americans are overweight

I very carefully count my chews. (mastication)

This way I can parse the number at will.

Louisiana is an at-will state.

If my rockin' bod starts looking sloppy, I will start counting calories. Until then, give my the bacon cheeseburger and onion rings.

You do take it to the extreme. You probably have a borderline disorder.

To answer your question I try to keep it very light a few days a week but I don't really count anything. I certainly don't obsess over it or make it not allow me enjoy myself.

Agreed totally. It's total ignorance. People are absolutely unaware of how many calories = X fat.

There's a reason weight watchers is such a long term successful method. They do the counting FOR you. People are too lazy to find their bmr and then actually have the discipline to stay under it to lose weight. You enter a few numbers, it tells you you have so many point to spend and you can eat anything you want in their system. Boom. ALL you have to do is be able to ADD.... oh, and not eat more than that.

However, I can imagine eating a big mac and a large fry for lunch, because that junk is good. But you can bet your arse i'll be watching what i eat the rest of that day and the next day if i gorge like that.

my company usually allows me to take people to places other than Burger King

Go look up Chilis, Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen, etc. burger, fries and fixins are always over 1,200/1,500 calories

I was at BJs Brewery Friday for lunch and looked up calories because I was interested in a burger - their average burger was 1,400 calories without the fries

Also, what if a person weighs 210-215 and runs 2 miles at 16:00 or less. How are they fat or out of shape?

yeah I know. im always getting poked fun at during lunch for getting the salad or the grilled naked fish with veggies, but then im the only one at the table that's clinically not obese by medical standards.
