I hung out with an astronaut at a party in Houston one night. He's been up 3 times. He was a complete prick about it.
After a while listening to his shite (I was drunk) I told him verbatim "Get off your fricking high horse, it's not like you went to the fricking moon. You took a ride in a fancy airplane to the ISS and back a few times."

My high school American History teacher's son has been to space several times. He was even mission commander at least once.
My parents went to a couple of the shuttle launches. I was invited but always had school and they were always scrubbing the missions because of weather, mechanical issues, etc., so it was hard to miss school and nothing happen. I wish I had been able to make it to one. My parents say it was unbelievable.
