Do you give money to strangers?

I was at Walgreens and a white dude (looked totally normal) probably in his late 20's to 30's. He wanted money and I said I don't have any cash on me. As I walked away, I heard him mention cash back. I'm in the store debating to give him money. He claimed his fiancé and her mother ditched him at the Burger King next door. He said he had been at the casino all night (we don't have any casino's). He wanted $9.25 for a taxi. I feel kind've guilty but he had some holes in his story. But I decided to give him money but when I walked outside, he was gone.

No, but I will give them food that I may have with me if they are homeless. Apple, granola bar, water, etc

I don't normally, but will every once in awhile if I'm in a good mood or feeling charitable.
I use to avoid the gas station on Essen near I-10. It was notorious for people asking for money, especially people at the pumps. I once had a guy approach me and ask for some cash. I told him I didn't have any, but I was pumping gas so he knew I had plastic. So he asked me to get him and his wife a hotel room. I laughed and said I wish I could get a hotel room for myself. He was a big guy and asked if I followed LSU football, cause he used to play for them. But I lied and said I never watch football. I'm pretty sure he was making it up..

I give sometimes to older homeless people. The young dude hustlers with bogus hardship stories get ignored.

I cannot tell you how many times I have had some dude walk up to me in a parking lot and tell me one of the following:
a) his wife/girlfriend left him somewhere and he needs money to get home
b) his car ran out of gas and he needs money to get gas
It is a con. They just try to play upon your emotions and not ask for too much.
I never, under any circumstance, give money to a stranger.

Nope I don't feed addictions or people who are too lazy to get up and go to work. If they ask you for money to get something to eat tell them come with me I'll buy you something to eat and I have not had anyone who asked take me up on that offer yet.

Some black homeless guy in New Orleans asked me for cash. I told him I didn't carry cash and he asked if I could buy him a meal. I told him no and he said "Probably cause you a racist."

I would have waited for taxi and then give the driver how much the fate was.... I don't give strangers money EVER. I'll buy them something to eat though.

I saw a guy at Jefferson and Bluebonnet with a sign saying "stranded please help" for like 3 days straight last week. Zero fricks.. if you're stranded for 3 days about 2 or 3 miles from I10 or I12, it's not my problem. Hitchhike. Don't beg for money. I hate that shite. He had on clean, new, stylish clothes and shoes and was clean shaven.
